Jim, a Kansan with Texas roots and an Oklahoma heart, is the executive editor and anchor of The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. He has won several awards in broadcast journalism, including Emmys and the George Foster Peabody Broadcast Award. And as one of this country's most respected journalists, he has served as a distinguished moderator for the American Presidential debates. Married to novelist Kate Lehrer, Jim is also the author of 15 books, including the one-eyed Mack series set in Oklahoma. His latest novel is The Franklin Affair. Walter Isaacson describes The Franklin Affair as "an amazing as well as delightful novel."
