N. Scott Momaday

An internationally acclaimed poet, novelist, playwright, storyteller, artist, and teacher, N. Scott Momaday is widely regarded as the dean of American letters. He received his Ph.D. from Stanford University and has taught at Stanford, Berkeley, and the University of Arizona. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and is author of The Way to Rainy Mountain; The Ancient Child; In the Presence of the Sun: Stories and Poems; The Names: A Memoir; In the Bear's House; the Pulitzer-winning novel House Made of Dawn; and Three Plays. In 2007, Governor Henry appointed Dr. Momaday to serve as Oklahoma's Centennial Poet Laureate.
